In 2010 the Mini Celebrates
it's 50th Anniversary. Melbourne
celebrated with Mini 50 and Hobart celebrated
with Mini Fest. Held at the Domain Grounds on
Sunday November 1st, 210 minis were on display.
From minis in original condition, restored and
modified versions right through to the current
day mini produced by BMW.
The STMCC was asked by
the Mini Car Club of Tasmania if we could
provide a static display of cars for the day.
This came about from John Beggs' and John
Batich's involvement in the Mini R/C event at
the Mini 50 in Melbourne. So off to the Domain
went our 2 biggest mini fanatics JB and Beggsie.
A collection of 6 minis were in the static
display along with a slide show of our R/C
racing history on the monitor and the club's
website on the laptop.
