Mini:
The fun class, where quite a few of the competitors racing 540Pro, 21.5T
and 13.5T pit their skills against each other.
This is a controlled class where all competitors must run a Tamiya M03
or M05 chassis. Other controls are in place regarding modifications and
option parts. A control Hobbywing 13T Brushless Motor and ESC combo are
used in this class, producing fast and close racing.
Formula 1:
A new class developed during the 2010 racing season and incorporated
into the Club Point Score in 2011. Similar to the Mini classes, the F1
class is a Controlled Class where all competitors must use either a
Tamiya F103 or Tamiya F104 Formula 1 chassis. There are also
restrictions on modifications and option parts that can be used. Due to
the delicate nature of the F1 cars, this class is only open to
experienced R/C drivers.
F1 cars were raced by STMCC and other
clubs around the world in the 90's and recent developments in tyres for
F1 cars will probably see a resurgence of this class. It's great to look
back on our pictorial club history to see the changes and developments
in cars over the years.
